حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " اسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللهِ مِنْ طَمَعٍ يَهْدِي إِلَى طَبْعٍ، وَمِنْ طَمَعٍ فِي غَيْرِ مَطْمَعٍ، وَمِنْ طَمَعٍ حَيْثُ لَا مَطْمَعَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) once said: Seek refuge with Allah from that greed which reaches the state of sealing the hearts; also seek refuge from that greed which leads to something purposeless; and seek refuge with Allah from such greed where there is no greed at all.
