It was narrated that Abul Tufail said:
I saw Mu'awiyah circumambulating the House with 'Abdullah bin ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) on his left, and I was following behind them and I could hear what they were saying, Mu'awiyah started touching the corner of the Black Stone, and 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas said to him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not touch these two corners. Mu'awiyah said: Leave me alone, O Ibn 'Abbas, for there is nothing of it to be forsaken! Ibn 'Abbas continued to say the same thing and no more; every time he put his hand on either of the two corners he said that to him.
