حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، (٣) عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي، ، مَعْشَرٍ، عَنِ النَّخَعِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الْجَدَلِيِّ، عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ، وَيَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ لِلْمُقِيمِ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Khuzaimah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) used to say that a traveler can wipe over his leather socks for three nights, and a resident for one day and one night.
