حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ طُعْمَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، قَالَ: قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ غَنَمًا لِلضَّحَايَا، فَأَعْطَانِي عَتُودًا جَذَعًا مِنَ الْمَعْزِ، قَالَ: فَجِئْتُهُ بِهِ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهُ جَذَعٌ قَالَ: " ضَحِّ بِهِ " فَضَحَّيْتُ بِهِ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Zaid bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) distributed goats among his noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) for sacrifice. A six-month-old kid came to my share. I took it to the service of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) and submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! This is a six-month-old kid (can it be sacrificed?)" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Sacrifice this one." So I sacrificed that very one.
