حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ (٢) ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ الْعِجْلِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَنْ لَاءَمَكُمْ مِنْ خَدَمِكُمْ فَأَطْعِمُوهُمْ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ، وَاكْسُوهُمْ مِمَّا تَلْبَسُونَ، وَمَنْ لَا يُلَائِمُكُمْ مِنْ خَدَمِكُمْ، فَبِيعُوا، وَلَا تُعَذِّبُوا خَلْقَ اللهِ " (٣)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: If your servant comes to you and is agreeable with you, then feed him what you eat yourself, and clothe him with what you wear yourself. And if he is not agreeable with you, then sell him and do not subject Allah’s creation to torment.
