حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ (١) ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، قَالَ: لَمَّا قَدِمَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ مِنَ الشَّامِ فَقَالَ: أَمَرَنِي خَلِيلِي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَلَاثٍ: "اسْمَعْ وَأَطِعْ وَلَوْ عَبْدًا مُجَدَّعَ الْأَطْرَافِ، وَإِذَا صَنَعْتَ مَرَقَةً فَأَكْثِرْ مَاءَهَا، ثُمَّ انْظُرْ أَهْلَ بَيْتٍ مِنْ جِيرَتِكَ فَأَصِبْهُمْ مِنْهَا بِمَعْرُوفٍ، وَصَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا، فَإِنْ وَجَدْتَ الْإِمَامَ قَدْ صَلَّى فَقَدْ أَحْرَزْتَ صَلَاتَكَ، وَإِلَّا فَهِيَ نَافِلَةٌ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that my beloved friend (ﷺ) advised me regarding three things: (1) Listen and obey, even if a slave with cut-off limbs is appointed as your ruler; (2) When you prepare broth, increase its water, then look to your neighbors and deliver some of it to them in a good manner; (3) And perform the prayer at its appointed time, and when you see the imam has finished the prayer, then you have also completed your prayer, otherwise it will be considered a voluntary prayer.
