حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكُمْ رَجُلٌ يَنْظُرُ بِعَيْنِ شَيْطَانٍ، أَوْ بِعَيْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ " قَالَ: فَدَخَلَ رَجُلٌ أَزْرَقُ، فَقَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، عَلامَ سَبَبْتَنِي - أَوْ شَتَمْتَنِي أَوْ نَحْوَ هَذَا -؟ قَالَ: وَجَعَلَ يَحْلِفُ، قَالَ: فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِي الْمُجَادَلَةِ: {وَيَحْلِفُونَ عَلَى الْكَذِبِ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ} [المجادلة: ١٤] وَالْآيَةُ الْأُخْرَى (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to fast until we thought that he did not want to stop fasting, and he would not fast until we thought that he did not want to fast, but he did not fast any month in totally apart from Ramadan from the time he came to Madinah.
