حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ، فِي مَسْجِدِ دِمَشْقَ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا الصَّوْمُ؟ قَالَ: "قَرْضٌ مُجْزِئٌ (٢) " (٣)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is fasting?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "An obligation which is to be fulfilled."
