Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), which deed is the most virtuous?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "To have faith in Allah and to strive in His path." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), which slave is best to set free?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The one who is most precious and valuable to his owner." I asked, "What if I do not find such a slave?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Help someone in need or work for a needy person." I asked, "What if I am unable to do even that?" He said, "Keep people safe from your harm, for this too is a charity that you give from yourself."
