حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنْ زِيَادٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ: لَوْ مِتْنَ نِسَاءُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُّهُنَّ، كَانَ يَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ؟ قَالَ: وَمَا يُحَرِّمُ ذَاكَ عَلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: لِقَوْلِهِ: {لَا يَحِلُّ لَكَ النِّسَاءُ مِنْ بَعْدُ} [الأحزاب: ٥٢] قَالَ: "إِنَّمَا أُحِلَّ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَرْبٌ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ " (١)، ، •
Translation
English translation
Ziyad Ansari says that I asked Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that if all the noble wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) had passed away, would it have been permissible for the Prophet (ﷺ) to marry another woman? Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "Who has made it forbidden?" I said, "Allah Almighty says, 'It is not lawful for you to marry women after this.'" He replied, "Several types of women were made lawful for the Prophet (ﷺ)."
