حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنْ أُبَيٍّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا، وَيُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ، وَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَثْقَلُ فِي مِيزَانِهِ مِنْ أُحُدٍ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Narrated from Zirr on the authority of Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever accompanies a funeral and participates in the funeral prayer will receive the reward of one qirat, and whoever remains with the funeral until the burial will receive the reward of two qirats. By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (ﷺ), one qirat will be heavier on the scale of deeds than the mountain of Uhud.
