حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أُبَيًّا، عَنِ الْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ عَنْهُمَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "فَقِيلَ لِي، فَقُلْتُ " فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَنَحْنُ نَقُولُ. Translation
English translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Asim ibn Bahdalah, from Zirr, who said: I asked Ubayy about the two chapters of seeking refuge (al-Mu'awwidhatayn), and he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about them, and he said: "It was said to me, so I said." So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded us, so we say them..
