حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ، فَقَالَ: "قِيلَ لِي، فَقُلْتُ " قَالَ أُبَيٌّ: فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَنَحْنُ نَقُولُ. English translation
‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from ‘Asim, from Zir, who said: Ubayy ibn Ka‘b narrated to me, he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about the two chapters of seeking refuge (al-Mu‘awwidhatayn), and he said: “It was said to me, so I said.” Ubayy said: So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to us, so we say..
