English translation
It is narrated from Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila (may Allah be pleased with him) on the authority of Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was present in the service of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) when a Bedouin came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! My brother is suffering from distress." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "What is his distress?" He replied, "He is afflicted with madness and insanity (lunacy)." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Bring him to me." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) called him and seated him in front of himself, and recited over him Surah Al-Fatiha, the first four verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, "Wa ilahukum ilahun wahid...", Ayat al-Kursi, the last three verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, one verse from Surah Aal-e-Imran "Shahidallahu annahu la ilaha illa Huwa...", one verse from Surah Al-A'raf "Inna rabbakumullahu allathee khalaqa as-samawati wal-ard...", the last verses of Surah Al-Mu’minun "Fata'ala Allahu al-Malikul Haqq...", the verse from Surah Al-Jinn "Wa annahu ta'ala jaddu rabbina...", the first ten verses of Surah As-Saffat..., the last three verses of Surah Al-Hashr..., Surah Al-Ikhlas and Al-Mu'awwidhatayn, and blew over him. That man stood up as if he had never been ill.
