Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، وَعَطَاءٍ، قَالَا: الْأَضْحَى سُنَّةٌ، وَقَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ:، ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أُمِرْتُ بِالْأَضْحَى (١) ، وَالْوَتْرِ، وَلَمْ تُكْتَبْ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that
the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) got up at night and relieved himself, then he washed his face and hands and went back to sleep.
