حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ قَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ: حَدَّثَنَا عَنْ جَمِيلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَلِيحٍ، عَنْ نُبَيْشَةَ، قَالَ: ذُكِرَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: كُنَّا نَعْتِرُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، قَالَ: " اذْبَحُوا لِلَّهِ فِي أَيِّ شَهْرٍ مَا كَانَ، (١) وَبَرُّوا اللهَ وَأَطْعِمُوا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Nubaisha (may Allah be pleased with him) that once people asked the Prophet (ﷺ), "O Messenger of Allah, in the days of ignorance we used to offer a sacrifice in the month of Rajab. What do you command us regarding this?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You may slaughter (the sacrifice) in the name of Allah in whichever month you wish. Do good deeds for the sake of Allah and feed the people."
