حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَلِمَةَ، قَالَ: كَانُوا يَأْتُونَا الرُّكْبَانُ مِنْ قِبَلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَنَسْتَقْرِئُهُمْ، فَيُحَدِّثُونَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لِيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَكْثَرُكُمْ قُرْآنًا " (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
Amr bin Salamah says that some riders used to come to us from the Prophet (peace be upon him); we would learn the Qur'an from them, and they would narrate this hadith to us: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The one among you who knows the Qur'an the most should lead your prayer."
