حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَقِيلُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي جُرَيٍّ الْهُجَيْمِيِّ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أُنَاسٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ، فَقَالُوا: إِنَّا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " فَلَا تَشْتُمْهُ بِمَا تَعْلَمُ فِيهِ، فَإِنَّ أَجْرَ ذَلِكَ لَكَ، وَوَبَالَهُ عَلَيْهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
‘Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Sallam narrated to us, ‘Aqil ibn Talhah narrated to us, from Abu Jurayy al-Hujaymi, that he came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with some people from the desert, and they said: “We are from the people of the desert.” Then he mentioned the hadith, except that he said: “So do not insult him for what you know about him, for the reward of that is for you and its burden is upon him.”
