Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ، قَالَ: بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ يَخْطُبُ، إِذْ جَاءَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ فَصَعِدَ إِلَيْهِ الْمِنْبَرَ، فَضَمَّهُ النَّبِيُّ (١) صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ، وَقَالَ: " ابْنِي هَذَا سَيِّدٌ، وَلَعَلَّ اللهَ أَنْ يُصْلِحَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ فِئَتَيْنِ عَظِيمَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) delivering a sermon on the pulpit when Imam Hasan also came. The Prophet (ﷺ) embraced him, placed his hand on his head, and said: "This son of mine is a leader, and Allah Almighty will bring reconciliation between two groups of Muslims through him."
