حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ؟ قَالَ: " مَنْ طَالَ عُمْرُهُ، وَحَسُنَ عَمَلُهُ "، قِيلَ: فَأَيُّ النَّاسِ شَرٌّ؟ قَالَ: " مَنْ طَالَ عُمْرُهُ، وَسَاءَ عَمَلُهُ "، (٣)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Bakrah that a man presented himself in the court of the Messenger and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which person is the best?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "The one whose life is long and whose deeds are the best." The questioner asked, "And who is the worst person?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "The one whose life is long and whose deeds are the worst."
