Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ، الْحَسَنَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَدِّثُنَا يَوْمًا وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ فِي حِجْرِهِ، فَيُقْبِلُ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فَيُحَدِّثُهُمْ، ثُمَّ يُقْبِلُ عَلَى الْحَسَنِ فَيُقَبِّلُهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا لَسَيِّدٌ، إِنْ يَعِشْ يُصْلِحْ بَيْنَ طَائِفَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) on the pulpit and Imam Hasan was with him. Sometimes he would turn towards the people and sometimes he would look at Imam Hasan and say, "This son of mine is a leader, and Allah Almighty will bring reconciliation between two groups of Muslims through him."
