Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَغَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ رِيحَ الْجَنَّةِ لَتُوجَدُ مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ مِائَةِ عَامٍ، وَمَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَقْتُلُ نَفْسًا مُعَاهَدَةً إِلَّا حَرَّمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَرَائِحَتَهَا أَنْ يَجِدَهَا "، قَالَ أَبُو بَكَرَةَ: " أَصَمَّ اللهُ أُذُنِي إِنْ لَمْ أَكُنْ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُهَا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The fragrance of Paradise is perceived from a distance of one hundred years. Whoever kills a person with whom there is a treaty, Allah makes the fragrance of Paradise forbidden for him. If I did not hear this from the Prophet (ﷺ), may both my ears become deaf."
