Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ الشَّحَّامُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ، وَسَأَلَهُ هَلْ سَمِعْتَ فِي الْخَوَارِجِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ؟ فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ وَالِدِي أَبَا بَكْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: عَنْ نَبِيِّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَلَا إِنَّهُ سَيَخْرُجُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أَقْوَامٌ أَشِدَّاءُ أَحِدَّاءُ، ذَلِقَةٌ أَلْسِنَتُهُمْ بِالْقُرْآنِ، لَا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ، أَلَا فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمْ فَأَنِيمُوهُمْ، ثُمَّ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمْ فَأَنِيمُوهُمْ، فَالْمَأْجُورُ قَاتِلُهُمْ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: After me, there will come a people in my Ummah who will be very swift and harsh. They will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go below their throats. Whenever you encounter them, kill them, for the one who kills them will be rewarded.
