حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ (٢) الْمُنْقَرِي، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا، يُحَدِّثُ عَمْرَو بْنَ عُثْمَانَ وَأَنَا شَاهِدٌ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرَةَ، حَدَّثَهُمْ، أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى بَغْلَتِهِ وَاقِفًا إِذْ جَاءُوا بِامْرَأَةٍ حُبْلَى، فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّهَا زَنَتْ، أَوْ بَغَتْ، فَارْجُمْهَا، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اسْتَتِرِي بِسِتْرِ اللهِ فَرَجَعَتْ، ثُمَّ جَاءَتِ الثَّانِيَةَ، وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى بَغْلَتِهِ، فَقَالَتْ: ارْجُمْهَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، فَقَالَ: " اسْتَتِرِي بِسِتْرِ اللهِ فَرَجَعَتْ، ثُمَّ جَاءَتِ الثَّالِثَةَ، وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ حَتَّى أَخَذَتْ بِلِجَامِ بَغْلَتِهِ، فَقَالَتْ: أَنْشُدُكَ اللهَ إِلَّا رَجَمْتَهَا؟ فَقَالَ: " اذْهَبِي حَتَّى تَلِدِي "، فَانْطَلَقَتْ فَوَلَدَتْ غُلَامًا، ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ فَكَلَّمَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهَا: " اذْهَبِي فَتَطَهَّرِي مِنَ، ، الدَّمِ "، فَانْطَلَقَتْ ثُمَّ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّهَا قَدْ تَطَهَّرَتْ، فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِسْوَةً فَأَمَرَهُنَّ أَنْ يَسْتَبْرِئْنَ الْمَرْأَةَ، فَجِئْنَ وَشَهِدْنَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِطُهْرِهَا، فَأَمَرَ لَهَا بِحُفَيْرَةٍ إِلَى ثَنْدُوَتِهَا، ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْمُسْلِمُونَ، (١) فَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَصَاةً مِثْلَ الْحِمَّصَةِ فَرَمَاهَا، ثُمَّ مَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ: " ارْمُوهَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَوَجْهَهَا، فَلَمَّا طَفِئَتْ أَمَرَ بِإِخْرَاجِهَا "، فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ: " لَوْ قُسِّمَ أَجْرُهَا بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الْحِجَازِ وَسِعَهُمْ "، (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) was riding his mule and Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was also present, when people brought a pregnant woman. She said that she had committed adultery, so she should be stoned. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to her, "Take benefit from Allah's concealment." She went back. After a short while, she came again while the Prophet (ﷺ) was still on the mule. She again said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), have me stoned." The Prophet (ﷺ) gave the same reply. When she came for the third time, she held the reins of the Prophet's mule and said, "I adjure you by Allah, have me stoned." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Alright, go until you give birth to the child." She went away, gave birth to the child, and came again to the Prophet (ﷺ) and spoke to him. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Go until you become pure from postnatal bleeding." She went away and after some time came again and said that she had become pure. The Prophet (ﷺ) called some women and ordered them to confirm her purity. They came and testified before the Prophet (ﷺ) that she had become pure. So the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered a pit to be dug up to her chest. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) came with the Muslims, picked up a pebble the size of a chickpea, threw it at her, and went back. He told the Muslims, "Now you stone her, but avoid hitting the face." When she became cold (i.e., died), he ordered her to be taken out, offered her funeral prayer, and said, "If her reward were distributed among all the people of Hijaz, it would suffice for them all."
