Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I assisted the Prophet (ﷺ) in performing ablution. After ablution, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Will you go with me to visit Fatimah to inquire about her health?" I replied, "Yes, certainly." The Prophet (ﷺ) leaned on me and stood up and said, "Soon, someone other than you will bear this burden, and you too will receive reward." The narrator says, "It felt to me as if there was nothing upon me until we reached the house of Fatimah." The Prophet (ﷺ) asked her, "How are you?" She said, "By Allah, my grief has increased, my hunger has become severe, and my illness has prolonged." Abdullah bin Ahmad says, "I found in my father's book, in his handwriting, after this hadith, this addition: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Are you not pleased that I have married you to the one from my Ummah who is foremost in accepting Islam, greatest in knowledge, and most magnificent in forbearance?'"
