English translation

Abu Abdullah Jasri says: I asked Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) about drinks, so he said: We used to live in Madinah Munawwarah where dates were abundant. There, the Prophet (ﷺ) made the drink called Fadheeh forbidden for us. Then a man came and asked Ma'qil bin Yasar about his elderly mother, whether Nabidh could be given to her because she could not eat any food. Ma'qil forbade him from doing so.
