حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، وَعَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، قَالَ: أَتَى نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ، فَقَطَعَ عَلَيْهِ خُطْبَتَهُ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَيْفَ تَقُولُ فِي، ، الضَّبِّ؟ قَالَ: " أُمَّةٌ مُسِخَتْ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، فَلَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ الدَّوَابِّ مُسِخَتْ؟ "، (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering a sermon when a Bedouin came and began to ask questions during the sermon. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about the lizard?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The forms of a community from the Children of Israel were transformed. Now, I do not know which animal's forms were transformed."
