حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، مِنْ كِتَابِهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَ الْحَسَنُ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " سَامُ أَبُو الْعَرَبِ، وَيَافِثُ أَبُو الرُّومِ، وَحَامُ أَبُو الْحَبَشِ "، وَقَالَ رَوْحٌ بِبَغْدَادَ مِنْ حِفْظِهِ: " وَلَدُ نُوحٍ ثَلَاثَةٌ سَامُ وَحَامُ وَيَافِثُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Sam is the ancestor of the Arabs, Ham is the ancestor of the Abyssinians, and Yafith is the ancestor of the Romans.
