Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنِ (١) عُيَيْنَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ خُرَاسَانَ، وَإِنَّ أَرْضَنَا أَرْضٌ بَارِدَةٌ، فَذَكَرَ مِنْ ضُرُوبِ الشَّرَابِ، فَقَالَ: اجْتَنِبْ مَا أَسْكَرَ مِنْ زَبِيبٍ أَوْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: مَا تَقُولُ فِي نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ؟ قَالَ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Ibn Abi Mulaikah narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas told him that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“It is as if I can see him, a pigeon-toed black man, dismantling it stone by stone," meaning the Ka"bah.
