Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " عَلَى الْيَدِ مَا أَخَذَتْ حَتَّى تُؤَدِّيَهُ "، وَقَالَ ابْنُ بِشْرٍ: " حَتَّى تُؤَدِّيَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whatever one hand takes from another, it remains a responsibility upon him until he returns it (to the giver).
