Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Muawiyah Bahzi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said to the Prophet (ﷺ): I had sworn so many times (opening the fingers of his hands to count) that I would not come to you, but now I have come to you, so tell me, with what has Allah sent you? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Allah has sent me with Islam. He asked: What is Islam? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: To bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad (ﷺ) is His servant and Messenger, and to establish prayer and pay zakat. These two things are supportive, and Allah does not accept the repentance of the one who, after accepting Islam, falls back into polytheism. I asked: O Messenger of Allah! Does our wife have a right over us? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When you eat, feed her; when you wear clothes, clothe her; do not strike her on the face; do not abuse her; and if you separate from her, do so only within the house. Then he said three times: All of you will be gathered here (pointing towards Syria), some of you riding, some walking, and some dragged on their faces. On the Day of Resurrection, you will be in the form of seventy complete nations, and you will be the last of them and the most honorable in the sight of Allah. On the Day of Resurrection, when you are presented, a seal will be set upon your mouths, and the first thing to speak will be your thigh.
