Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمُكَاتَبِ: " يَعْتِقُ مِنْهُ بِقَدْرِ مَا أَدَّى دِيَةَ الْحُرِّ، وَبِقَدْرِ مَا رَقَّ مِنْهُ دِيَةَ الْعَبْدِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
‘Ammar, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, said:
I heard Ibn "Abbas say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) died when he was sixty-five years old.
