حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا سَيُكَلِّمُهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ تَرْجُمَانٌ، ثُمَّ يَنْظُرُ أَيْمَنَ مِنْهُ، فَلَا يَرَى إِلَّا شَيْئًا قَدَّمَهُ، ثُمَّ يَنْظُرُ أَشْأَمَ مِنْهُ، فَلَا يَرَى إِلَّا شَيْئًا قَدَّمَهُ، ثُمَّ يَنْظُرُ تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِهِ، فَتَسْتَقْبِلُهُ النَّارُ ". قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (١) : " مَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَقِيَ وَجْهَهُ النَّارَ (٢) وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ، فَلْيَفْعَلْ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: There is not a single person among you except that his Lord will speak to him directly without any interpreter. He will look to his right and will see only what he has sent forth; he will look to his left and will see only what he has sent forth; and he will look in front of him and the Fire of Hell will confront him. Therefore, whoever among you can save himself from the Fire, even if it be by giving half a date in charity, then let him do so.
