حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ، وَعَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى، أَنَّهُمْ أَصَابُوا حُمُرًا، فَطَبَخُوهَا قَالَ: فَنَادَى مُنَادِي رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَكْفِئُوا الْقُدُورَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Khaybar, some donkeys fell into our hands, so the announcer of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) proclaimed: "Turn over the pots." It is narrated from Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when someone would bring the zakat of his wealth to the Holy Prophet (ﷺ), the Prophet would pray for him. One day, I also brought the zakat of my father's wealth, so the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: "O Allah, send blessings upon the family of Abu Awfa."
