حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: وَقَالَ مُوسَى بْنُ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: " كَانَ إِذَا نَزَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُرْآنٌ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَحْفَظَهُ "، قَالَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:: {لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ} [القيامة: ١٧] (١)،

Translation

English translation

It was narrated from Ibn "Abbas that he said:

When he prayed Fair he would lie down until he began to breathe deeply, and we used to say to ‘Amr: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “My eyes sleep but my heart does not."
