Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ، قَالَ أَبِي: " حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ هُشَيْمٌ مَرَّتَيْنِ: مَرَّةً عَنْ ابْنِ الْعَلَاءِ، وَمَرَّةً لَمْ يَصِلْ "، " أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، كَتَبَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَبَدَأَ بِنَفْسِهِ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
Ibn Alaa says that once his father wrote a letter to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and at the beginning, he wrote his own name first (as this is also the Sunnah).
