Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ بَحِيرٍ، رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْحَيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ضِرَارَ بْنَ الْأَزْوَرِ قَالَ: أَهْدَيْنَا لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِقْحَةً، قَالَ: فَحَلَبْتُهَا، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا أَخَذْتُ لِأُجْهِدَهَا قَالَ: " لَا تَفْعَلْ، دَعْ دَاعِيَ اللَّبَنِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Dhirar bin Azwar that once my family sent me to the Prophet with a milch she-camel. I presented myself, and the Prophet ordered me to milk it. Then the Prophet said: Leave enough milk in its udders so that it can be obtained again.
