English translation
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Hisham (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Prophet, and the Prophet was holding the hand of Umar Farooq. Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! I swear by Allah that you are more beloved to me than everything except my own self." The Prophet said, "None of you can be a complete believer until I am more beloved to him than his own self." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "By Allah! Now you are more beloved to me than my own self." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Umar! Now it is complete."
