English translation
It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) forbade cupping and continuous fasting, but did not declare them unlawful so that permission for them would remain for the Companions. Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Do you yourself observe continuous fasting?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "If I do so, then my Lord feeds me and gives me drink."
