Original Arabic

حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّقِّيَّ، قَالَ: قَالَ خُصَيْفٌ، حَدَّثَنِي غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ،، ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " إِنَّمَا نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَنِ الْمُصْمَتِ مِنْهُ، فَأَمَّا الْعَلَمُ فَلا " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It was narrated that Ibn "Abbas said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray two rak"ahs at night, then when he finished he would use the siwak.
