English translation
It is narrated from Nabi T (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, I was sitting behind my father on the mount. When the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) began the sermon, I stood on the rear part of the mount and placed my hand on my father's shoulder. I heard the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) saying: "Which day is the most sacred?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Today." The Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "Which city is the most sacred?" The companions replied, "This city (Makkah)." Then he asked, "Which month is the most sacred?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "The present month." The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Then your lives and your wealth are as sacred and inviolable to each other as the sanctity of this day, in this month, in this city. Have I conveyed the message to you?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Yes!" The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "O Allah! Bear witness. O Allah! Bear witness."
