حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " لَيْسَ لَنَا مَثَلُ السُّوءِ: الْعَائِدُ فِي هِبَتِهِ، كَالْكَلْبِ يَعُودُ فِي قَيْئِهِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:
When the verse "When there comes the Help of Allah (to you, O Muhammad ﷺagainst your enemies) and the Conquest (of Makkah)" [an-Nasr 11:01] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "I have been given news of my own death.” meaning that he would die in that year.
