حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةِ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حُجَيْفَةَ،، ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ: ذَبَحَ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَبْدِلْهَا ". فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، لَيْسَ عِنْدِي إِلَّا جَذَعَةٌ وَأَظُنُّهُ قَدْ، قَالَ: خَيْرٌ مِنْ مُسِنَّةٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اجْعَلْهَا مَكَانَهَا، وَلَنْ تُجْزِئَ أَوْ تُوَفِّيَ (١) عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Abu Burdah bin Niyar (may Allah be pleased with him) slaughtered his animal before the Eid prayer. He said, "O Messenger of Allah! I have already slaughtered my animal." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "Sacrifice another animal in its place." He said, "O Messenger of Allah! Now I only have a six-month-old lamb, which is better than a year-old animal." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Slaughter it in its place, but no one else besides you is permitted to do so."
