Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجَمَ يَهُودِيًّا وَقَالَ: " اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ، أَنِّي أَوَّلُ مَنْ أَحْيَا سُنَّةً قَدْ أَمَاتُوهَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) stoned a Jew and said, "O Allah! I am the first person to revive Your command after they had made it dead."
