Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنَ الْبَرَاءِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِنَاسٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، فَقَالَ: " إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلِينَ، فَأَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ، وَأَعِينُوا الْمَظْلُومَ، وَاهْدُوا السَّبِيلَ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) passed by some Ansari men and said: If you have no choice but to sit by the roadside, then spread greetings of peace, help the oppressed, and guide the way.
