Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself in the service of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), and there the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were sitting as if birds were perched on their heads. I also greeted the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) and sat down. Meanwhile, some Bedouins came and asked the Noble Prophet (ﷺ): "O Messenger of Allah! Can we seek medical treatment?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied: "Yes! Seek treatment, for Allah Almighty has not created any disease without also creating its cure, except for one disease—old age." Because of this, Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say to people in his old age: "Now, can you find any medicine for me?" Then those who had come asked the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) about certain things: "Is there any harm for us in such-and-such things?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied: "Servants of Allah! Allah has removed harm, except for the one who unjustly violates the honor of a Muslim, for this is a sin and leads to destruction." They asked: "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! What is the best thing given to a human being?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied: "Good character."
