Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ، عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الدُّعَاءُ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ "، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ} (١) [غافر: ٦٠]،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Nu’man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Supplication is the essence of worship. Then the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) recited this verse: "Call upon Me; I will respond to your supplication."
