Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ، عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ الْكِنْدِيِّ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ "، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ: {وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمْ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ} (٢) [غافر: ٦٠] قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: " يُسَيْعٌ الْكِنْدِيُّ يُسَيْعُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ "،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Supplication is the essence of worship. Then the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) recited this verse: "Call upon Me; I will respond to your supplication. Those who are arrogant regarding My worship..."
