Musnad Ahmad Hadith 18363

It is narrated from Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that once my mother asked my father to give me something as a gift. He gave me that thing as a gift. She said that I will not be satisfied until you make the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) a witness to this. At that time, I was young. My father took my hand and went to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! His mother, the daughter of Rawaha, has asked me to give this child something as a gift, so I have done so. She wants me to make you a witness to this." The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Basheer! Do you have any other sons besides him?" He said, "Yes." The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) asked, "Have you given all your sons the same as you have given him?" He said, "No." So the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Do not make me a witness to this, for I cannot be a witness to injustice."
