حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ، وَالشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ (١) ، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي قَوْمٌ تَسْبِقُ أَيْمَانُهُمْ شَهَادَتَهُمْ، وَشَهَادَتُهُمْ أَيْمَانَهُمْ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The best people are those of my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. After that, a people will come whose oath will precede their testimony and whose testimony will precede their oath.
